Co-ed class for ages 11 - 16 who are just beginning their dance training. Great for students who wish to fast track into a Core level class or who want to begin ballet training with their own age group. Taught by Breana Moore, the work begins at the barre, building foundational technique and progressing each week to new concepts. Regular attendance is encouraged!
Thursdays 5:15 - 6:30pm
All classes at New Ballet School are designed to educate both male and female students.
Boys Technique is specifically designed for boys ages 6 - 10 who prefer to be in a class with all boys. Fundamentals of technique are pulled from each genre and include, ballet barre, modern center, Horton technique and Jazz isolations. Hip Hop may be included in the final 15 minutes of class and is offered to engage the boys in choreography that is immediately engaging and participatory in this early stage. In the process, the boys learn to "pick up" choreography, memorize sequences and patterns and are able to "move" right away.
Once Boys are educated in the fundamentals of technique, they may self select to be progressed to a Core Ballet class or add on a Hip Hop, African or Flamenco class.
Students are invited to perform annually at the Levitt Shell and in Nut ReMix!
