"Sleeping Beauty" Camp
July 16-20 | 9am-12pm REGISTER: "SLEEPING BEAUTY" CAMP!
Students who want to continue ballet this summer can explore Tchaikovsky's classic story ballet "Sleeping Beauty." Each day begins with a ballet class followed by theme activities and crafts to help students learn more about the composer, choreography, all the elements of this perrenial favorite. Students will perform for friends and family in the studio during their last class. Snacks and craft materials are provided.

Breakdance & Jookin Camp
July 16-July 20 | 1pm-5pm REGISTER: BREAKDANCE & JOOKIN CAMP!
Breakdancing was one the first urban streetdance styles and this class will emphasize the athletic techniques of contemporary breaking. Beginning and intermediate b-boys and b-girls are welcome! Memphis Jookin is our city's unique contribution to the dance world, and New Ballet alum Charles "Lil Buck" Riley has become its global ambassador with his ballet-influenced style. Students will learn basic Jookin moves and explore improvisation. Teachers are experienced Memphis Jookers and Breakers.

"Peter and the Wolf" Camp
July 23-July 27*, 9-11 am | *Aftercare available (11-noon) REGISTER: "PETER AND THE WOLF"/JULY!
Our most popular early childhood camp! Children bring Prokofiev’s classic symphonic fairy tale to life, learning dances for the characters in the story and creating their own props and costumes during daily craft time. Family & friends performance on the last day of class!

West African Dance & Drumming Camp
Ages 6-10 REGISTER AFRICAN DANCE & DRUMMING 6-10
AGES 11-13 REGISTER AFRICAN DANCE & DRUMMING 11-13
Both Sessions: July 23-27 | 1pm – 5pm
This exploration of West African dance techniques will include traditional rhythmic forms including KouKou, Joli, Sorsonet, and Kassa. Drumming lessons will focus on basic djembe technique, and students will also create African-inspired craft projects (craft materials included).
