Melanie has been teaching Pilates since 2002 and loving it!  She began her study of anatomy and movement therapies at The Massage Institute of Memphis.   Seeking deeper knowledge after graduation, she began a 2-year internship and full Pilates certification with Ellie Herman Pilates Studios.  This was the beginning of a joyous exploration of human movement, breath, and body awareness.  Mel feels blessed to have the opportunity to assist others in finding their strength through movement.

In addition to a 100hr Om Yoga teacher training at Midtown Yoga, Mel completed a 200hr yoga teacher training with Variyoga in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  There, she also studied advanced massage techniques as an intern under master teacher and Physical Therapist, Joseph Reagan MSPT. In 2008 she completed a year-long internship in California studying with The Gyrotonic Expansion SystemÒ and advanced Pilates techniques.  She then spent a year in San Jose, Costa Rica teaching and practicing at a studio affiliated with Pilates Master Michael Miller.

Drawing from a diverse background in disciplines and culture, Mel hopes to enliven those who come to her sessions with awareness of their bodies, strength, and an all around great flowing work out.
