Springloaded / Petrushka ReMix

GPAC – April 27 (7 pm), April 28 (5:30 pm), April 29 (2:30 pm)

New Ballet premieres a brand new addition to its portfolio of remixed dance classics with Petrushka ReMix, a reinvention of the 20th century ballet composed by Igor Stravinsky, with the story shifted from St. Petersburg to Memphis. Petrushka is a puppet in a carnival show, a trickster caught in a love triangle with a beautiful ballerina and a jealous Moor. Their slapstick story is condensed to a single fast-paced act filled with NBE’s distinctive diversity of music, dance, and dancers that will appeal to everyone from children to their parents and grandparents. The first act of the performance features a group of exciting new works in a variety of styles. It’s a full menu of dance in one of New Ballet’s favorite venues, the Germantown Performing Arts Center, where every seat is a good one! Tickets on sale now!
