Support the Dunbar Elementary School
Boys Residency Program!
$5,000 Campaign provides:
- Tuition for 10 boys from Dunbar Elementary to take 3 classes per week for 12 weeks from a NBE instructor
- Uniforms and materials for classes
- Opportunity to participate and perform in "Nut ReMix" (4 main stage performances held at the Germantown Performing Arts Center)
About the Program:
The Dunbar Boys Residency program is a New Ballet Ensemble & School outreach initiative benefitting ten (10) boys who attend Dunbar Elementary School in the Orange Mound neighborhood. New Ballet teaching artists will instruct the boys in three classes a week for 12 weeks, two classes to be held at Dunbar and one class at New Ballet with New Ballet students to rehearse for their participation in "Nut ReMix". The ultimate goal of the program is for these boys to matriculate into the New Ballet core program (New Ballet School) on scholarship alongside students from throughout the Memphis community. Please join us in providing a unique opportunity for these boys to experience the joy and benefits of dance.
How to give:
- $500 - sponsor a child's participation in full
- $350 - sponsor a child's tuition
- $175 - sponsor half of the child's tuition
- $100 - sponsor a child's participation in "Nut ReMix"
- $50 - sponsor a child's class uniform
- $10 - sponsor one class for one child

About New Ballet Ensemble & School
New Ballet provides opportunities to young aspiring dancers from diverse backgrounds by providing the tools and training to those who seek excellence, regardless of the family's ability to pay. Class offerings and curricula are based on the ethic of sound technical ballet training with an emphasis on multiculturalism. Students will explore African, Flamenco, Hip Hop, and Modern dance throughout their studies at New Ballet.
New Ballet students' goals cover a broad spectrum. Some have a serious desire to have access to scholarship opportunities at University dance programs, others participate in the program out of a desire to be immersed in an atmosphere of professionalism, creative freedom and serious intent.
Support
New Ballet secures funding for programs through individuals, corporations and foundations. New Ballet is a 501c3 organization and gifts are tax deductible when goods or services are not exchanged for the donation.
Scholarships
New Ballet awards scholarships to students who are unable to afford tuition.
Auditions are held for willing, able and talented children to ensure that equal access to dance is available to all young people who have a passion for movement and creative expression.
