Brandon Conger (Ballet)
Brandon Conger joined the New Ballet Ensemble in 2006 after stepping in for an injured dancer with only two weeks of rehearsal for roles in both Fragments of Belonging and Haydn String Quartet during Spring Loaded. In the 2007 season, Brandon performed at the Memphis College of Art with New Ballet in Voices and Visions, as the Cavalier in Nut Re-Mix, and traveled to Snowden Elementary to assist in a workshop for children ages 6-8. Originally from Nashville, TN, Brandon grew up performing with Opryland, Tennessee Repertory Theater, The Circle Players, and studied extensively at Nashville Ballet. He was awarded Best Technical Dancer and Most Outstanding Male Dancer in high school. In 2001 Brandon received the Van Ault Scholarship at the Tennessee Association of Dance and in 2007 was awarded a grant fellowship from the Tennessee Arts Commission. Brandon has studied and performed with the Joffrey Ballet School in New York, Boston Ballet II and Ballet Memphis. His summer studies include Nashville Ballet, the Kirov Ballet in Washington D.C., the Juilliard School and American Ballet Theater in New York City.
