A native Memphian, Rhonda Causie has been a business/technical writer for corporations and nonprofits for more than 30 years. Her writing portfolio includes business plans for start-ups and expansions; cost volumes for numerous long-range projects; quality audit documents for organizations seeking ISO / Baldrige certification; employee orientation and training manuals for national and local corporations; union-certified apprenticeship programs; and a variety of corporate communications ranging from marketing copy to annual reports. As an employee of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, 2005-2018, Causie led multiple high-profile community initiatives, including Leading From Every Chair®, Opus One Series, Family Tunes & Tales, Orff-Orchestra Concerts, and more.
In September 2018, Causie was named New Ballet’s Director of Institutional Giving. She is responsible for all aspects of government and private grant activities including grant writing and grants administration. This requires close work with the leadership team to ensure funding inputs in all programming; to research, identify, and secure new corporate and foundation funding opportunities; and to steward current, lapsed, and future grant relationships.
Causie is an active community volunteer and currently serves Mid-South Transplant Foundation, United Way of the Mid-South, and Memphis Jazz Workshop. She is also immediate past chair of the Memphis Youth Symphony Program and continues as an active member of the executive committee.
