Kayla Lee is the AmeriCorps Vista Volunteering & Mentoring Services Coordinator. Kayla is an alumna of The University of Memphis with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Social Work. Before receiving her degree in May 2019, Kayla enjoyed working with kids as a Summer Associate at Literacy Midsouth teaching students the importance of Literacy. Kayla’s passion lies within education and community service, which assists in making sure children are treated correctly and are pushed to the next phase after adolescence. Ms. Lee also believes that mentoring is one of the many ways that encourages children. While some children may not have anyone on the emotional level to support them, she believes that mentors are capable of getting the job done. While Sociology and Social Work has served as the focus of Kayla’s passion, Ms.Lee has earned several hours of undergraduate and graduate credits in Child Psychology courses.
Kayla is an native of Memphis, Tennessee and has volunteered with various non profits to ensure that many children and adolescents become leaders in the future. She is also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. Kayla looks forward to her time as a Vista here at New Ballet Ensemble & School!
